Our PricingScanapix has focused a lot of attention and detail into our pricing structure so that you dont have to. Our goal is to provide you with the best value: the highest quality scans at the lowest possible cost. We realize the most important thing is to preserve your collection of photos and documents by getting them scanned at high quality. Because of this, we charge a flat rate of 25 cents per photo or document scan, with no hidden charges. No mimimum order charges - You are charged a flat rate of 25 cents per photo scan. No higher resolution scanning charges - You will not get charged higher prices for higher scanning resolution. After conducting market research, we came up with our 400 dpi scan. 300 dpi is enough to make an exact reproduction of the original scan whereas anything more would only be required to crop or enlarge images. With that extra 100dpi we include, you get 78% more pixels to crop or increase the size of an image print while keeping the file at a reasonable size. 600dpi scans simply are not necessary unless you want to make a poster of the image scanned, and the file sizes are way too large. Since our typical user is not in the poster business, we have decided to scan at 400dpi for all our scans. All photo scanning is performed in the USA - We do not try to convince you that it is ok and safe to send your treasured, one-of-a-kind photos to a foreign country to save us a few cents. Our workflow and high quality equipment enables us to pay our American employees competitive wages while still offering our customers very competitive pricing. We do not charge extra for the cd or dvd. - Depending on your order, we will copy the scanned photos onto either a cd or dvd. If your completed project is less that 4.7gb (data for a single dvd) we will copy your images onto cds. This is the system we will follow unless you specify a certain format on the ordering page. No extra charges for different size scans - Scanapix will charge the same rate for any photo you send us. Your photos must be from 1.1 x 2.7 up to 12 x 18. We do not charge extra to send you your files in a tiff format - Jpg and tiff are the most popular photo formats in the market today. Please specify if you would prefer your photos in a tiff format when you place your order. Otherwise, you will receive them in the popular jpg format. |
